AliExpress and YouTube Announce Global Partnership to Bring Marketplace Products into Videos

AliExpress and YouTube Announce Global Partnership

AliExpress is expanding its partnership with YouTube to turn video content into an additional sales channel. Creators will be able to find products from the marketplace directly in YouTube Studio, recommend them in their videos, and earn commissions when viewers make purchases.

On October 20, 2026, AliExpress announced a strategic partnership with YouTube aimed at expanding affiliate commerce through video content. The collaboration will bring the marketplace’s product catalog into the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program, which allows creators to monetize product recommendations.

South Korea was the first market to launch the partnership in March 2026. The collaboration is now expanding to the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Germany. The companies plan to roll it out to additional countries in stages as YouTube’s affiliate program expands.

How the AliExpress Integration with YouTube Will Work

Creators who meet YouTube Shopping’s eligibility requirements will be able to select AliExpress products directly in YouTube Studio and tag them in their content. The feature will support three major YouTube formats: long-form videos, Shorts, and livestreams.

For example, a creator could tag a product in a short unboxing video or showcase it during a livestream. Viewers will be able to visit the corresponding AliExpress listing, while creators can earn a commission if the resulting purchase meets the affiliate program’s terms.

Importantly, checkout will take place on AliExpress rather than directly within YouTube. This means the partnership is about integrating product recommendations into video content, not creating a separate marketplace within the video platform.

The partnership will place particular emphasis on Brand+, a curated selection of branded products from international and local manufacturers. At the same time, creators will have access to products across various categories, including electronics, home goods, sports equipment, and everyday essentials.

Why This Is More Than Just Another Way to Advertise Products

Creators could already promote AliExpress products using traditional affiliate links. The new integration primarily changes how they interact with those products: selecting items, tagging them in videos, and tracking performance will all be handled through YouTube Shopping tools.

For AliExpress, this creates an opportunity to reach potential customers before they even start searching for a product on the marketplace. A product review, comparison, or demonstration can do more than generate interest in a purchase — it can also direct viewers to a specific product listing.

In effect, competition for customers is gradually shifting from search results pages to the earlier stage when people are just discovering products. In this model, price, specifications, and product ratings still matter, but so does how convincingly a creator can demonstrate a product’s benefits.

The focus on Brand+ is also worth noting. Promoting branded products through creators who specialize in particular topics could help AliExpress strengthen trust in its product selection. After all, a recommendation backed by a real-world demonstration can answer questions that a standard product listing may not fully address.

At the same time, this model introduces certain risks. Commission payments may influence which products creators choose to recommend, making it important for viewers to distinguish independent reviews from commercial promotions.

What Will Change for Shoppers and Creators

For shoppers, the main benefit will be a more convenient path from discovering a product in a video to placing an order. However, they will still need to check purchase terms, current prices, shipping options, and any applicable restrictions on AliExpress.

For creators, the partnership opens up additional opportunities to monetize their content without having to build their own system of affiliate product links. However, access to the program will depend on their country, channel status, and whether they meet YouTube’s eligibility requirements.

AliExpress has not yet disclosed specific commission rates, the number of products eligible for promotion, or the financial results of the earlier launch in South Korea. It is therefore too early to assess the partnership’s commercial effectiveness.

A New Stage in the Evolution of E-Commerce

The partnership between AliExpress and YouTube reflects a broader shift in e-commerce: marketplaces want to reach consumers not only when they are ready to buy, but also when their interest in a product is still taking shape.

For AliExpress, this is an opportunity to diversify its sources of customer acquisition, while YouTube can strengthen the role of video content in online shopping. At the same time, the outcome will depend on how relevant the product recommendations are and whether creators can maintain the trust of their audiences.

The key strategic shift is that marketplaces will increasingly compete not only for existing demand, but also for influence over consumers’ purchasing decisions. The collaboration between AliExpress and YouTube marks another step in that direction.
